Risk Management/Treasury Intern

Battelle's Finance Intern Program is seeking a Risk Management/Treasury Intern for Summer 2012. This fulltime temporary position is located at Battelle’s Corporate Headquarters in Columbus, Ohio. The Corporate Finance Group recognizes that work experience relating to the student’s career goal can be beneficial to the student in obtaining permanent employment upon graduation. The internship can serve to strengthen the student’s commitment to a career field; it might, on the other hand, help the intern to identify certain jobs that he or she would not wish to pursue.We strive for work assignments that are educational and meaningful. Ideally, the intern’s duties will be of a nature similar to duties that would be assigned to a college graduate in a training program. Each summer, Corporate Finance sponsors the Finance Intern Forum in which Finance interns from throughout the Battelle-managed laboratories and corporate meet to share experiences. Interns also have the opportunity to meet with Corporate Officers and other senior-level executives at the forum. Risk Management/Treasury InternBattelle manages risk through commercial insurance, a captive insurance company and other self-insurance mechanisms. The Corporate Capital Management function of the Treasury department is responsible for day-to-day funding and debt activities for Battelle. The Risk Management /Treasury intern will assist the Assistant Treasurer, Director Risk Management & Corporate Capital Management with various projects and tasks including insurance renewal proposals, claim analysis and day-to-day treasury activities.

THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS MUST BE MET TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION:
· Current standing of junior or senior at an accredited college or university pursuing a Bachelor's degree in business, finance or accounting. Students must be enrolled to return as a full-time student following the internship.
· Overall GPA 3.0 or above
· Sole U.S. citizenship, with the ability to obtain and maintain required government security clearances.

THE FOLLOWING IS DESIRED, BUT NOT REQUIRED TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION:

They will receive “hands-on” experience developing financial models, preparing and reviewing international subsidiary monthly financial summaries, and analyzing variances in order to meet global financial reporting and governance requirements.

IT INFRASTRUCTURE RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Assist with server infrastructure team day-to-day tasks.
· Create and maintain datacenter disaster recovery documentation.
· Fulfillment of server build requests, which will include physical and virtual servers utilizing HP hardware and VMware technologies.
· Assist with monthly server patching including packaging and scheduling using Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager.
· Monitor and review system generated alerts.
· Perform and maintain quarterly datacenter inventories.
· Work with vendors to resolve failed hardware incidents.
· Maintain datacenters for general organization and efficiency.

THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS MUST BE MET TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THE POSITION:
· Completion of at least two years of college level course work in the areas of Information Technology or Computer Sciences.
· Familiarity with Windows server operating systems.·
Must work well in both team and individualized tasks.
· Some lifting may be required.
· Availability to work 10-20 hours/week on a flexible schedule.
· Must be a U.S. citizen.
· Understanding of virtualization technologies.
· Knowledge of physical server hardware.
· Prior experience with Microsoft SharePoint.

Museum Internship in Alaska
The Hammer Museum in Haines Alaska is recruiting for a 3-month internship with a flexible start day from May to September 2012

The Hammer Museum is a non-profit, private entity and the world's only museum dedicated to hammers. Its mission is to provide a view of the past and a history of technology through the use of man's first tool. There are over 1500 hammers on display, ranging from Roman times to the present.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: Interns may work on one or more of the following projects: cataloging and researching the museum collection, taking digital photographs of artifacts; website development; assisting with an inventory of the museum collection on a Past Perfect database; public speaking, and newsletter development.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Strong writing, research and collections care skills.
Strong organizational, multitasking and people skills.
Computer skills, including PastPerfect database software and word processing or a desire to learn them.
Ability to work independently and on detailed tasks.
Knowledge of the history of technology a plus.
Degree or expected degree in history, education, museum studies, humanities or a related field.
An adventurous spirit.

COMPENSATION: The internship comes with a $100 per week stipend and basic housing is provided. Haines is a wonderful Alaskan community with a population of around 2000 and a breathtaking landscape.

Datatel Summer Internship

It is that time again when we begin to recruit current undergraduate juniors for our Software
Development Summer Internship at Datatel. The 2012 Summer Internship dates are Monday,
May 21 - Friday, August 17. Please note that only students graduating in December 2012 or
May 2013 will be considered for the Summer Internship. Unfortunately, we cannot make
exceptions to this requirement.

Datatel's Software Development Division accepts intern applications for:
  • programming
  • quality assurance
  • documentation
The selected interns are given the unique opportunity to come to Datatel's
Fairfax, Virginia office and become immersed in the day-to-day business of commercial
software development. The selected students participate in a training program and then engage
in substantive work related to Datatel's products. Each intern is assigned to a development
team and works with a formal mentor. In addition to receiving training and work experience,
many past interns have been hired as Datatel employees after graduation. This is a paid
internship and free corporate housing is provided to students during their stay in Fairfax,
Virginia.

JUNIOR ROTATIONAL PROGRAM
At the core of the NFL’s Junior Rotational Program is a series of work assignments which will provide participants with an opportunity to contribute to the organization’s success while receiving an unparalleled
