I would appreciate it if you would share this information below as well as the attachments with prospective teachers, professors and alumni. Please note: The final deadline to apply to our NYCDOE public schools for the 2010-2011 schools year is June 30th, 2010. Please go to www.teachnyc.net to apply.

The New York City Department of Education is seeking excellent teachers who are or will be certified in special education or the sciences for the September 2010-2011 school year. Teachers who hold other certificates should apply now as well - as eligibility to work in our schools rests upon having a completed online application via www.teachnyc.net.

The New York City Department of Education offers competitive salaries and benefits, opportunities to grow and achieve as a professional, and the choice of 1,600 unique schools with their own missions and educational approaches.

The Office of Teacher Recruitment and Quality is currently conducting interviews for special education and science slots in TRQ Select, our program for teacher applicants who show the highest potential. For more information on teaching in New York City, eligibility criteria, application information, and online and in-person events, please visit http://www.teachnyc.net.

Again – please note: The final deadline to apply to our NYCDOE public schools for the 2010-2011 schools year is June 30th, 2010. Please note that this final deadline is absolute and at this point, due to application volume, there are no plans to open the application for anyone after the deadline.
