Major: Public Policy, Public Administration, Economics or Finance. Preferably enrolled in a graduate program.
Hours: Part-time day hours, with requested work schedules between 20 & 40 hours per week.
Salary: $10 - $15 per hour depending on academic level & experience.
Job Description: Assists Chief Financial Officer (i.e., CFO) & Assistant CFO in daily operations: Compiles, analyzes & reports on various fiscal & budget data; analyzes budget & revenue/expense-related datasets to reveal trends, forecast needs & monitor behavior; completes administrative tasks for CFO & Assistant CFO (e.g., tracks payments in PeopleSoft-based state accounting system, interacts with division-level fiscal staff to assist in distributing new policies, procedures & guidelines).
Qualifications: Must be a college student enrolled in Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program.
Candidate must possess knowledge of Budgeting* & Agency Policies & Procedures (e.g., standard operating procedures)*. Candidate must be skilled in equipment operations (e.g., operation of a personal computer to create, edit/revise, store documents) & Microsoft Excel (e.g., intermediate to advanced knowledge level). Candidate must have the ability to: use statistical analysis, maintain accurate records, prepare meaningful, concise & accurate reports, gather, collate & classify information about data, people or things & cooperate with co-workers on group projects.
