SALARY RANGE: $41,912 to $62,691
RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs technical duties necessary to procure the best value for materials, equipment,
services and supplies. Sources the City's procurement needs, prepares purchase orders and bid tabulations for
approval. Reviews and analyzes needs statement and submits recommendations. Incumbent must use sound
analytical principles such as value analysis, lifecycle costing and similar related methods while evaluating
requests and recommendations for bids submitted. Position requires considerable use of effective professional,
interpersonal and communication skills. All assignments are performed within the authority delegated from the
City Charter and applicable legislation and City policies.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's Degree in business administration, public administration,
accounting, engineering or a closely related field and 2 years of experience working in procurement operations,
business or financial management; OR Associate's degree in purchasing, procurement or accounting and 3
years of experience working in procurement operations, business or financial management. Degree must be
from a college or university that is accredited by the U.S. Department of Education through the North Central
Association of Colleges and Universities or equivalent region. Must possess a valid driver's license at time of
appointment. Must obtain and maintain a valid Ohio Driver's License within 30 days of appointment. A current
Certified Professional Public Buyer (CPPB) credential issued by the Universal Public Purchasing Certification
Council (UPPCC) is preferred at time of appointment, or must successfully achieve this credential within 3
years of appointment.

Park Naturalist Position

The Board of Greene County Commissioners is seeking an Intermittent Naturalist in
the Recreation, Parks & Cultural Arts Department. This is an On-Call position,
consisting of 1,000 hours or less, per calendar year, and the incumbent must be
available to work daytime, evening and weekend hours.
The successful candidate will research, assemble curriculum, and instruct cultural and
environmental programs for the general public, schools and summer camp;
coordinate volunteer naturalists; schedule programs; conduct volunteer staff
meetings; and assist with large event programming. Responsible for the health,
safety & care of native wildlife held at the nature center; daily cleaning &
maintenance of the facility; and providing information to the general public through
trail guides and other educational information.
Training & experience minimum requirements: Associates Degree or technical
program in Environmental Education/Science, Resource Management, or closely
related field and two (2) years experience presenting environmental education
programs; or, any combination of education & experience sufficient to successfully
perform the essential duties of the position. A valid Ohio’s driver’s license is
required.

Democracy Matters - a non-partisan, non-profit organization committed to giving students a voice in pro-democracy issues - is offering paid part-time internships during the academic year from September through May. Democracy Matters interns:

Learn the skills of political organizing for social change…Create a Democracy Matters chapter on your campus…Build coalitions of student activists on campus...Organize teach-ins on money in politics...Run workshops in local high schools...Receive training and year-round mentoring from experienced DM staff…Coordinate with other colleges in sponsoring reform legislation...Lobby and educate elected officials about campaign finance reform...Run petition drives and door-to-door canvasses to educate students on the issue of money in politics.

Democracy Matters provides undergraduate interns with a stipend of $500 per semester, professional support, a wide range of materials, funding for campus activities, and opportunities to participate in regional and national conferences.

Applicants should have a commitment to social change and some organizing experience. No expertise in campaign finance reform is required.
