The Ohio Legislative Service Commission (LSC) is now accepting applications for the 2012 LSC Legislative Fellowship Program.

The Commission will hire 22 people as full time, paid employees to work in the Ohio Senate, the Ohio House of Representatives, or the Legislative Service Commission. Fellows will be paid $25,400-$27,400. Applicants must complete a bachelor's degree program by December 2011. All majors are encouraged to apply. Successful applicants have good communication and interpersonal skills, an interest in government and/or politics, and most have a strong academic record.

LSC Fellows provide staff assistance to Ohio’s elected officials and gain practical experience in the legislative process and legislative research. Responsibilities may include policy research, assisting with legislation, constituent assistance, communication needs (speeches, press releases, newsletters, correspondence, etc.), and various administrative duties.


Application materials must be postmarked by
April 1, 2011. Interviews will be held during April and May in Columbus. Final selections will be announced in mid-May. Employment will begin the first week of December 2011 and will continue through December 31, 2012.
