Summer Fisheries Jobs Available

The USDA Forest Service, Southern Research Station, CATT is hiring students for summer 2011 fisheries fieldwork.

8 - 11 positions are available (dependent on funding) among 2 crews

Application deadline March 6th, 2011

Ouachita Crew (5 positions):
Duration: May 9th - August 19th, 2011 (start/end dates may be negotiable)
Primary duties: measure stream habitat attributes and sample fish in wadeable streams
Duty station: Mt. Ida, Arkansas
Housing: Forest Service housing is provided (a nominal housing fee applies)
Work area: Ouachita National Forest northwest of Hot Springs, AR

Stream Inventory Crew (3 - 6 positions):
Duration: May 23rd - August 12th, 2011
Primary duties: measure stream habitat attributes and sample fish in wadeable streams
Duty station: Blacksburg, Virginia
Housing: not provided but subleases are readily available in Blacksburg, VA
Work area: National Forests throughout the southeastern U.S.
