City of North Olmsted Summer Employment

The City of North Olmsted is looking for eager, energetic, reliable individuals for part-time summer employment. The following positions may be available for part-time summer employment:

Service – Seasonal Help:

Forestry: Duties include landscape, tree and lawn maintenance which requires operating grass mowers, weed whackers, brush chippers, watering equipment and other handheld tools as required by the job activities.

Streets: Duties include street, sign, and yard maintenance which requires shoveling asphalt, filling potholes/cracks, operating crack sealing equipment and cleaning as necessary.

Fleet: Fire hydrant maintenance which requires operating compressed air equipment such as grinders and painting apparatus.

Springvale Golf Course and Ballroom – Seasonal Help:

Labor/Maintenance: Duties include mowing grass with various turf mowers, sand trap maintenance, and other miscellaneous golf course maintenance tasks as required.

Customer Service/Clubhouse: Duties include checking in golfers for tee times, running transactions at the register for golf fees and food/beverage purchases. Prepares food for customer, as well as keeping the clubhouse area clean and stocked.

Starter/Ranger: Duties includes controlling golfers teeing off for golf play. Ensures that all customers have a sales ticket for play. Provides golfer with cart rental. Monitors play on the golf course.

Cart Boy/Girl & Dishwasher: Assists Starter with cart fueling. Cleans carts and parks carts at the end of the day. Stocks coolers in the Clubhouse. Takes trash to dumpster, as well as washes dishes.

Server/Ballroom: Duties include serving guests for various Ballroom functions, set-up and clean-up for various events, e.g. weddings, etc.

Recreation Center – Seasonal Help:

Maintenance: Duties include general landscaping, baseball diamond prep, moving dirt, mulching, mowing grass and chipping brush. Janitorial cleaning duties also included.

Head Counselor: Responsible for overseeing Camp Counselors and Campers. Must qualify as a Camp Counselor, in addition must be able to effectively and appropriately instruct children, handle difficult situations, have strong communication skills and be able to lead a team. Must be able to oversee the day to day schedule of the Camp.

Camp Counselor: Responsible for the care of up to 12 children during summer camp. Must enjoy being outdoors and working with children. Must demonstrate patience, creativity, leadership, and be a team player.
