This person is responsible for assisting the newscast producer with writing and organizing of the broadcast product as well as writing for nbc4i.com It is critical that an Associate Producer be a highly motivated individual who is well versed in the rules of journalism, capable of working in a self directed environment and able to exercise a high level of creativity, innovation and enterprise when creating content for presentation across multiple media delivery platforms. Qualified candidates will have a B.A. or B. S from an accredited college or university. Exceptions to the educational requirements could be made to candidates with strong professional experience or skills in a critical coverage area of interest, who also exhibits an ability to work in a self-directed envoronment and a creative imagination to create unique content. Less than a year's experience working in a television newsroom is preferred. Experience should include a demonstration of writing. Digital Journalist at WCMH-TV in Columbus
NBC 4 (WCMH) of Columbus, an NBC affiliate of the Media General, Inc. , is looking for a Digital Journalist to join the newsroom team. A Digital Journalist is responsible for developing and nurturing local news contacts, developing unique stories, covering breaking news and following up on news stories.

The DJ must have a passion for advocacy on the part of the customer. University Journalism Scholarships: Three scholarships of $1500 each. Students must be actively enrolled in Ohio colleges or universities and are sophomores, juniors, or seniors during the 2012-13 academic year.
Ohio Newspaper Women's Scholarship: One scholarship of $1500 will be awarded to a male or female student who will be enrolled as a junior or senior in the 2012-13 academic year.
Harold Douthit Regional Scholarship: One scholarship of $1500 awarded to a student who is will be enrolled at an Ohio college or university in the 201213 academic year as a sophomore, junior, or senior, AND has graduated from a high school in one of the following counties: Cuyahoga, Lorain, Huron, Wood, Geauga, Sandusky, Ottawa, or Lucas.

Paid Journalism Internships
I'm happy to announce that the application for our Fall Journalism Internship Program is now available. Our program offers paid placements in print, broadcast, new media, and investigative journalism, and includes a weeklong workshop. Please inform your students and recent graduates.
Internship hosts include newspapers, media networks, non-profit newsrooms, and new media start-ups. Past interns have worked at a LA news-radio station and Fox Business, and newspapers such as the DC Examiner. Students may also find their own internship and apply for funding. Our program director, a former journalist, provides mentoring and job placement help during and after the internship. Program alumni were recently hired by the Daily Caller, National Review, and The Monitor in McAllen, Texas.

Students can also still apply to our career-oriented Summer Seminars on liberty. The seminars explain how to apply economic and political tools to careers in journalism, public policy, or academia. This is a friendly reminder that our March 31 deadline is fast approaching for several opportunities that are being offered to your students:
· 3 University Scholarships of $1,500 each
· 1 Ohio Newspaper Women’s Scholarship of $1,500 (for male and female applicants)
