SALARY RANGE: $54,912 to $82,139
RESPONSIBILITIES: Coordinates the safe, efficient, effective and regulatory compliant water treatment activities within the
Division. Assists the Division Manager by directing the daily activities in water treatment operations and maintenance programs.
Incumbent is the operator of record as defined by the Ohio EPA and as such is the on-site certified operator responsible for the
technical operation of a water treatment plant within a public water system with multiple plants. Inspects daily operations, reports and
maintenance projects consistent with regulatory requirements. Ensures the workplace is in full compliance with applicable federal,
state and local rules and regulations. Must use complex data software systems such as asset management and Supervisory Control and
Data Acquisition (SCADA). Must be able and willing to respond to after-hours emergency calls 24 hours a day, 7 days a week as
required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Associate's degree in engineering, chemistry, environmental science or related discipline and 5
years of experience in water system operations, maintenance or related capacity (water supply, treatment or distribution system). Two
years of supervisory experience can be concurrent with water system experience. MUST HAVE THE CRITERIA TO BE
ACCEPTED AS AN OHIO EPA CLASS IV WATER SUPPLY CANDIDATE AT TIME RESUME IS SUBMITTED. Must apply to
the Ohio EPA to sit for the Class IV test within 3 months of appointment and be accepted into the program. Once accepted into the
program, must finish the Class IV license process within the prescribed time limits as set forth by the Ohio EPA as a term and
condition of continued employment. As a condition of continued employment, a Class IV Ohio Protection Agency (OEPA) Water
Supply certification must be maintained thereafter for the duration of employment in the Water Supply & Treatment Administrator
classification. Must possess a valid driver's license at time of appointment. Must obtain and maintain a valid Ohio driver's license
within 30 days of appointment.
NOTE: Applications must specifically address each of the minimum qualifications, directly showing how each is met. Degree must
be from a college or university that is accredited by the U.S. Department of Education through the North Central Association of
Colleges and Universities (or equivalent region).
