Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce - Internship


Overview: Responsible for providing office support to the various departments within the Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce. Must be comfortable operating computer programs, such as Word and Excel. Good grammar and positive customer service skills will be necessary for speaking with local customers to gather pertinent, and sometimes confidential, information.

Environment: Office setting. Must dress in business-casual attire. No jeans. No flip-flops. No tennis shoes.

Duties:

· Enter data into Microsoft Word/Excel

· Call local companies to obtain valued Chamber data

· Print and fold various mailings

· Assemble community welcome bags

· Create events calendar on computer (training available)

· Add CVB events to other websites (training available)

· Assist with back-up receptionist coverage

· Take notes at meetings and type for distribution (confidential information at times)

· Communicate with Chamber Ambassador for special needs

· Deliver information to Chamber members

· Assist with making Retention and Expansion calls to Clark County businesses

· Assist with company follow-up/reminder calls for various chamber events

Hours: Negotiable

Pay: Unpaid program in summer 2010, available for credit only; paid program likely for fall 2010

Duration: Summer 2010 through Fall 2010
