DEPARTMENT: RECREATION & YOUTH SERVICES
SALARY RANGE: $36,275 to $54,267
RESPONSIBILITIES: Supervises the daily operation of a recreation, athletic, and/or park facility located at a community center, cultural center, special events facility, athletic field/facility, teen center, senior center, aquatic operation, fitness area or computer lab. Supervises and/or assists in instructing classes, workshops and activities at assigned facilities. Performs accounting, record keeping and reporting of daily revenues, purchases,
check requests, payroll, fee collections, budget requests, ticket sales, program revenues, program registrations, incident/accident reports and budget development.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Associate's degree or higher with major coursework in recreation administration, physical education, sports management, leisure services or a related field and one year of fulltime paid supervisory experience in recreational, athletic and leisure time activities; OR high school diploma (or G.E.D.) and 6 years of progressive experience in leisure and/or community service, 2 years which must have been in a full-time paid supervisory capacity in recreational, athletic and leisure time activities. Degree must be from a college or university that is accredited by the U.S. Department of Education through the North Central
Association of Colleges and Universities or equivalent region. Must obtain and maintain as a condition of employment valid First Aid and Adult/Child CPR with AED certifications within 6 months of appointment. If assigned to aquatic facilities, incumbent must obtain Certified Pool Operator or Aquatic Facility Operator license within 6 months of appointment. Certified Parks and Recreation Professional (CPRP) certification preferred, but not required. Must possess a valid driver's license at time of appointment. Must obtain and maintain a valid Ohio Driver's License within 30 days of appointment.

GENERAL EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS
Final permanent appointment is contingent upon the applicant passing a job-related medical examination, including drug screen, if required, and providing documentary evidence of Employment Authorization and Identity.
Appointment to positions in this classification may require applicants to pass a police background investigation.
