Division/Office: Ohio Energy Resources Division

Major: Business Administration/Public Administration, Political Science,

Environmental/Energy Sciences or related field.

Preferably completion of junior level coursework of their major or enrolled in a graduate program.

Start Date: Immediate

Hours: Must be available to work 20 hours per week and up to 40 hours during the summer

Salary: $10 - $15 per hour. Based on academic level and experience.

Job Description: Reports to Manager of Advanced Energy Education & Marketing: Assists Ohio Department of Development (i.e., ODOD) to target & market Ohio’s assets to advanced energy industries; tracks data on leads submitted from advanced energy industry tradeshows, events & professional contacts; develops reports on active projects & industry; conducts research & compiles data for industry reports or materials; assists with outreach efforts to promote advanced energy industry in Ohio (e.g. wind & solar working groups, conferences & tradeshows); develops case studies & assists in developing educational materials; assists with maintenance of website(s); responds to inquiries regarding advanced energy development & deployment via e-mail & telephone; performs other internship job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications: Candidate must have knowledge of: Business Administration, Communications (e.g., verbal & written), Environmental Science*, & Agency Policies & Procedures (e.g., standard operating procedures)*. Candidate must have skill in: operation of personal computer & related software (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, internet) & word processing. Candidate must have the ability to: gather, collate & classify information about data, people or things, prepare meaningful, concise & accurate reports, use varying research methods in gathering data, understand a practical field of study (e.g., wind & solar industry), copy material accurately & recognize grammatical & spelling errors, cooperate with co-workers on group projects, & answer routine telephone inquiries from public.
