Georgia-Pacific Chemicals LLC Columbus, has an opening for a Purchasing Coordinator II.The Purchasing Coordinator manages and oversees the purchasing of raw materials, supplies and miscellaneous items for the plant. They may also be asked to participate on centralized sourcing teams or special projects at the facility or corporate level. The Purchasing Coordinator works in a plant team environment that requires a high sense of urgency and must possess the ability to solve problems that cross disciplines meeting the needs of the local plant customers.
Responsibilities include:
- Purchasing and negotiating raw materials, and services and supplies from external vendors. Working with requestors to understand requirements; specifications, services and timing.
- Educating and ensuring appropriate use of national, regional and local contract agreements within a facility.
- Tracking, recording, and monitoring the movement of the railcar fleet.
- Ensures compliance to all safety, purchasing, stores and environmental policies and procedures.
- Management and control of working capital and on hand inventory valuations.
- Clerical duties include assisting with Accounts Payable resolution and answering the phones.
- The Purchasing Coordinator is also the primary back up to the Customer Service position.
Basic Qualifications:
- High school Diploma
- Minimum of Four (3) years purchasing experience required
- Efficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Powerpoint.
- Ability to work overtime when required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced education or degree with an emphasis in purchasing or business
- Five (5) years or more purchasing experience.
Knowledge & Skills:
Knowledge of purchasing procedures, common industrial terminology and common business software.
Knowledge inventory management.

Georgia-Pacific Resins in Columbus, Ohio has an opening for an Instrument Technician in our Resin/Chemical production plant. The Instrument Technician will provide instrument support for a Resin manufacturing plant. The responsibilities will include, but are not entirely limited to:
- Troubleshooting instruments and instrumentation problems and failures,
- Repair and installation of new and existing equipment,
- Provide support for numerous process control systems.
- Troubleshooting and modifying existing controls and DCS platforms,
- Provide planning and technical support for development and installation of new systems,
- Maintaining basic electrical control systems, including motor control installations
- Other functions of the position as required.
Basic Qualifications
- 5 years of I&E/job related experience to include machine and instrumentation repair in a military or industrial environment or an Associates Degree in Instrumentation and Electrical or similar, related field of study.
- The ability to maintain and repair Motor Control Centers.
- The ability to troubleshoot control systems.
- The ability to read technical drawings and schematics.
- 5 years experience in chemical manufacturing or Process Safety Management controlled environment.
- Understanding of mechanical specifications, drawing/loops sheets, diagrams, process controls, PC skills.
- Able to lift 50 pounds.
- Technical proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Must be available to work overtime.
- Must be available for on call rotation.
- Must be able to work in an office and non-office environment.
- Requires sitting, walking, stooping, climbing, bending, repetitive motion and standing.
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical certificate or diploma or Associates Degree in Instrumentation and Electrical or similar, related field of study.
- 2 years of troubleshooting Distributed Control Systems.
- Advanced knowledge of electrical/mechanical troubleshooting.
- Experience with environmental compliance/testing
