POST-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:

RESPONSIBILITIES/JOB DUTIES:
Under the administrative direction of the Superintendent, directs Human Resource functions of the Board, including but not limited to, labor negotiations, compensation planning, hiring process, Workers’ Compensation administration, employee training and certifications, Family Medical Leave, Personnel policy and procedure development, insurances, discipline procedures and disability process.
Directs and supervises Human Resource operations to ensure adherence to statutory requirements, Board policy and agency policy/standards including, but not limited to: administration of Workers’ Comp program and FMLA; benefits administration; development and maintenance of compensation program; development and monitoring of personnel policy; contract monitoring; responding to unemployment claims; participating in labor negotiations; responding to OCRC claims; cooperating with community agencies as appropriate.
Participates as member of Superintendent's Administrative Team in developing and implementing Board wide plans and operational strategies; works with other administrative team members in effective operation of Board programs and activities.
Directs the maintenance of accurate, complete and timely employee medical and personnel records and reports, utilizing paper and electronic information systems. Directs the public records requests and fulfillment for the Board.
Directs, monitors and evaluates agency programs and services to ensure attainment of agency goals and objectives, including but not limited to employee certification and licensing; recruitment; training; separation and risk management. Oversees recruitment and course offerings for independent, waiver and/or Board-certified providers.
Performs other related duties as required to include but not limited to: serving on committees and/or serving as a trainer.
COMPENSATION: Starting pay is $57,081.72 - $68,498.06 (based on level of degree and experience)

We are currently seeking a Human Resources Intern to work at our Columbus, OH location.

POSITION SUMMARY:This position will have primary responsibility for coordinating and administering Battelle’s Intern and Co-Op program. Incumbents will be responsible for recruiting interns, including candidate sourcing, screening, interviewing, evaluating candidate fit, and managing requisition and applicant information through Battelle’s Applicant Tracking System. The incumbent will also have responsibility for planning social and networking events for Interns and Co-Ops.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Recruits interns and may assist in the recruiting of other exempt and non-exempt positions.
· Plans social events for Interns and Co-Ops.
· Consults with HR staff and managers in the hiring process; identifies and understands technical skills and qualifications sought to fill open positions with high quality talent.
· Matches candidates to job profiles and makes direct contact with the applicant to market the employment opportunity and influence the applicant.
· Screens candidates and make recommendations for hire through telephone and in-person interviews.
· Manages requisition process: posts open positions to appropriate job boards, sources resumes and qualified candidates, conducts pre-screening phone interviews and facilitates candidate feedback process, conducts on-site interviews with hiring manager, assists with selection process, and processes offer to selected candidate.
· Ensures delivery of diverse, high quality talent and organization fit for candidates hired into the organization.
· Ensures compliance with all applicable employment laws and policies and maintains up-to- date internal policies.
· Participates in career events as Battelle representative (as needed).
· May assist in various other HR projects and activities as directed by HR Leadership including employee relations, record management, salary administration, policy guidance, performance management, and other special projects

. THE FOLLOWING MUST BE MET TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THE POSITION:
· Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Labor and Human Resources.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
· Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to be detail oriented.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

As a Director, Human Resources you will serve as the primary HR partner and internal consultant with the Vice President of our 1,600 employee processing center located in Springfield, Ohio. This role will participate as a member of the processing center leadership team and develop HR plans/initiatives with direct reports that are aligned to corporate and local goals. This position reports to the Vice President, Human Resources at our corporate office.

Primary responsibilities will include leading talent development, organizational effectiveness and employee engagement activities. The Director will also lead and develop a local HR team – four HR Generalists and three HR Associates.

Qualified candidates will have:

· 10+ years human resources and development experience in the service industry
· Solid experience with HR&D practices and expertise in managing initiatives of a broad scope
· Knowledge in a variety of HR&D specialties including organizational development, employee engagement, succession planning, management and employee development, employee relations and employment law
· Proven leadership abilities and people management experience
· Excellent influence, verbal, written and presentation skills
· Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field (Master’s degree preferred)
· SPHR certification
