DEPARTMENT: WATER
SALARY RANGE: $49,816 to $74,526
RESPONSIBILITIES: Oversees the 24/7 operation and maintenance of large centralized pump stations and all remote water distribution facilities to ensure continuous water supply to all customers for the public health and safety and for the economic vitality of the region. Applies federal, state, and local environmental rules and regulations to the daily water pumping functions. Plans projects to ensure a successful, effective and cost efficient operation.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree with major areas of study in a science or an engineering related discipline AND 2 years of experience in water distribution pumping operations and maintenance AND one year of supervisory experience AND one year of experience in SCADA system operation;
OR Associate's degree in a science or an engineering related discipline AND 4 years
of experience in water distribution pumping operations and maintenance AND one year of supervisory experience AND one year of experience in SCADA system operation;
OR high school graduation (or G.E.D.) AND 9 years of experience in water distribution
pumping operations and maintenance AND one year of supervisory experience AND one year of experience in SCADA system operation. Supervisory experience within the water treatment or pumping industry is preferred.
NOTE: Applications must specifically address each of the minimum qualifications, directly showing how each is met. Degree must be from a college or university that is accredited by the U.S. Department of Education through the North Central Association of Colleges and Universities or equivalent region.
LICENSE REQUIREMENTS: Ohio EPA Water Supply Class II is preferred at time of appointment. Candidates not having a Class II Water Supply license must possess and maintain an Ohio EPA Water Supply Class I license or Water Distribution Class II license at
time of appointment. Within the experience and education requirements outlined in the Ohio Administrative Code (OAC) 3745-7, Operator Certification, the incumbent must obtain an Ohio EPA Water Supply Class II license or an Operator-in-Training Water Supply Class II license within 2 years of the date of appointment to the Pumping Systems Supervisor position. Must maintain all required Ohio EPA certifications/licenses as a term and condition of continued employment.
Must possess a valid driver's license at time of appointment and maintain thereafter as a term and condition of continued employment.
