IT Technical Trainer at Battelle

Our Corporate Information Technology (CIT) Group is currently seeking a Technical Trainer 1 for our Change Management group. This position is located in Columbus, Ohio. This individual will be working with lead trainers, business analysts, developers, and project leaders to develop and deliver training for processes and systems implemented by CIT.

Primary job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Delivering core courses for the technical or regulatory learning curriculum via in-person or virtual learning sessions
* Helping develop technical learning curricula for staff at all levels of the organization, including senior leadership, using adult learning theory and instructional design principles and practices
* Contributing to the technical organization’s learning strategy, addressing format of course delivery, build or buy decisions, design standards, competency requirements, supporting mobile delivery and measuring learning effectiveness
* Applying learner assessments such as participant feedback, proficiency testing, and job performance to measure effectiveness of learning solutions and modify solutions as necessary for continual improvement
* Coordinating learning strategy and scheduling with Battelle’s Learning and Development office.
* Communicating and marketing learning resources and schedule with staff using internal marketing resources

Required Qualifications
* A bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Organization Development or a relevant technical field or equivalent experience
* Minimum of 3-5 years experience assessing, designing, developing, implementing and evaluating instruction for adult learners at all levels
* Knowledge of adult learning and instructional design principles and best practices
* Experience developing courses in a variety of formats including UPKs, videos, e-learning modules, mobile access, live instruction, and other innovative technologies
* Demonstrated skill providing engaging, dynamic and innovative learning solutions with poise, confidence, and in a manner that gains trust and respect of learners
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* Experience with the ability to work on multiple projects, meet deadlines, and provide products that delight the customer
* Ability to provide clear, effective written communication with staff at all levels of the organization
* Must be a U.S. citizen

Preferred Qualifications
· Experience developing and delivering training for PeopleSoft or similar ERP software
· Experience developing training via PeopleSoft’s User Productivity Kit (UPK) and/or Captivate video
